Exclamation PvP access kit question

Hi all,

i recently bought the Nightfall campaign and have enjoyed the game so far.

Today i bought the PvP access kit and was wondering if i made a mistake there.

It suddenly dawned on me that i can already access PvP through my original purchase. *slaps head*

Was buying this a complete error where i wont see any benefits, or have i actually bought something that will add to my enjoyment?.

Fingers crossed

you'll have access to every GW skill and profession. however, that applies only for PvP only characters.

basically, as long as you PvP with PvP only characters, you no longer have a disadvantage in terms of skills and professions.

Ed??t: NVM the unlock part

On the other hand, in this stage of the game there should be no reason to buy the pvp packs. You can buy the full game for a lott less then what you buy the pvp pack for (im pretty sure, cant find the price now)

The only reason you should want to be the pvp pack is if you want to get into high end pvp RIGHT NOW, because you get a few free skills with it, if you just want to pvp, you can simply buy the full version, make X character go to zaishen arena, earn some easy faction get a basic build done and then go RA to get a better build.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes i was going to roll a PvP only character tonight so i guess that i haven't made too much of an error after all.

I will still play the roleplaying character too, but i will stagger the nights.

*phew*

The PvP Access Kit will allow you to use professions and skills from the other campaigns only in PvP. You still need to buy the campaigns for each if you want to use them in PvE. Also, kit includes 60 unlocks (20 elites, 20 skills, and 20 items) for PvP.

Your Nightfall campaign did allow you access to PvP, but only for professions and skills of that campaign. The kit overlaps with that part, but then allows you the other campaigns in PvP. If you never planned on getting the other campaigns for PvE, then it was a good buy. If you did, then the PvP access from the campaigns that you buy will overlap with the kit making it essentially useless aside from the 60 unlocks. Then the other unlock packs would have been better, but if you were really into PvP, its not hard to unlock everything with Balthazar Factions. If you're not, then the unlocks don't do much for you anyway.

To unlock all of them skills would take a lot of gold and skills points. I am skills capping the almost 400 Elite Skills now and that costs me 400K just for the skills caps. So money wise/balt faction wise sure if you are going to use the skills for PVP

BUT WAIT. Does this unlock all of the skills on the account? If it does, then you can buy tomes for your toons and then unlock the skills you need that way. A war tome for example is like 500g so it would save you 500g and a skills point to unlock the skills for war on a PvE toon by buying the tome off of a player.

so if the game has 1000 skills you will save yourself 1000 skills points and 500K -HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING of course.

So Real money for in game gold savings = worth it if you have the Real Money.

Actually It should cost you 399K because you get one free cap sig in LA.
Also , counting possible drops you will be and can sell well be closer to 200K , which isn't that much, especially compared to the other titles. That's not even counting that 1/16 of the skills you will cap will help you earn more money.

No, it only unlocks them for PvP characters, so there it is of no use to PvE characters.

You gain a third of the xp needed to gain a skill point for each cap at lvl 20, so that reduces the amount of skill points you have to "farm" , if you ever need to do that, which you shouldn't

Actually there are 290 elite skills, not 400 (290 you need to cap, not counting ursan etc).
